SALES POLICIES

  • We reserve the right to retain any goat kid. I do reserve the right to change my mind and retain any goat previously offered for sale on this website prior to final sale.

  • Goat kids are sold on a first come, first monetary deposit basis. Once they are placed on the website with a price, this means they are available. A deposit of 50% of the purchase price will hold the animal until pick up date. Deposits are non-refundable unless animal becomes ill or dies. Every goat and all related charges (including transportation, testing, CVI, etc.) must be paid in full before a goat leaves the farm. No exceptions. Please understand that all deposits are non-refundable because you are asking us to take an animal off the market and reject other possible offers.

  • We prefer deposits to be made via PayPal or Venmo. If you choose to make your deposit, please notify us of your intent first and be sure to add an extra 4% to your payment in order to cover the PayPal transaction fee. If you do not want to pay the extra 4% please choose “friends/family” option. The "friends/family" option does not have a fee. We accept Paypal, cash or Venmo for final payments. We do not accept checks for the final payments at this time.

  • Pick up must be arranged at time of deposit for a mutually agreed upon date. Any animals not picked up by that date will be placed back up for sale and deposit will be forfeited. If we are contacted ahead of agreed upon date and you wish to extend the date of pick up (I understand, life happens), there will be a boarding fee of $5/day until the animal is picked up.

  • We will not sell a newborn, as we feel that they get the best start in life when they receive colostrum from their dams. This ensures the absolute best for the offspring. It allows them to be socialized by us humans, but also develop herd socialization and learn normal goat behaviors. It also allows them to build immunity. The majority of our kids will be dam raised. Our dam raised kids will be weaned between 8-12 weeks. Purchase price includes continued mentoring from Oak Cove Farm as desired by buyer. However, we are not able to give medical advice about a sick animal. Bottle babies can go to their new homes between 3-8 weeks.

  • Our wethers are priced at $250.00 and the price range of our breeding stock is from $450.00 to $1000.00, depending on quality, ancestors, its age at time of purchase, and whether or not they are in milk. We sometimes sell kids on a bottle. When kids are sold while still on a bottle, the buyer understands that all responsibilities of properly caring for their newly acquired kids falls on them. If something happens to the kids in the buyer’s care (or in a transporter's care), Oak Cove Farm will not be held responsible in any way.

  • Buyers, or their representative/agent picking up the goat, are responsible for checking a goat for signs of defects, illness or injury before they leave the property. Buyers, or their representative/agent picking up the goat, are also asked to verify tattoos prior to leaving. Once the goat leaves our property, we are not liable for anything that may happen to the goat during transportation.

  • Our goat kids are disbudded. If you want horns intact, you must make arrangements with a non-refundable deposit for the entire purchase price prior to birth.

  • If you are interested in a buckling for breeding purposes, please contact us. We will only sell top quality intact bucklings who meet conformation requirements for breed standard and registry.

  • We sell goat kids in pairs or to approved farms who already have livestock. We do NOT sell single kids or adults to those who do not already own goats. Goats are herd animals and do not thrive by themselves. They must be with another goat companion.

  • We do not fly our animals. They must be picked up at the farm by the buyer or the buyers representative. If the buyer chooses to use a transporter, it is the buyer's responsibility to choose their own transporter and to come to a mutually agreed upon pick-up plan with us.

  • We reserve the right to refuse sale to anyone for any reason.

  • Health certificates and any additional disease testing are available at the expense of the buyer. Please be aware that each state has different test requirements. If your state requires a test(s) to be done before transportation we will need at least 2 weeks notice to schedule our vet to draw the samples and to receive results.

  • Purchase price includes continued mentoring from Oak Cove Farm as desired by buyer.

  • We won't haggle with purchase prices. If someone sees our animals and feels that they are worth the investment, then we know it's a home/farm we want our animals going to. We will entertain trades occasionally (i.e. farm equipment, organic horse quailty hay, alfalfa etc.), feel free to ask.
